Then, one day, he calls and says that he's sorry he's been “such a jerk” and “a flake” and that he's “usually not like this” and he's been so frazzled with work (for the most part, you know this is true, sounds fishy, but trust me on this part, take it at face value) and he can't focus on dating you right now
